In a wonderful and much-needed next step: I have teamed up with architect and art historian Dr Alissa De Wit-Paul to put the second step of my preservation process to the test!
Dr. De Wit-Paul is an architect and art historian and has been working in the field of sustainable architecture for years. She also teaches graduate architecture online and experiences the firsthand frustration of how to truly provide immersive information to students who are geographically limited from doing site visits for class projects.
On many levels, these students are our target audience, as are students of history, museum studies, and anyone interested in experiencing an academically verified and stringently recorded site.
Together, we have garnered support from the Genesee Country Village and Museum to provide us access to their historic Campbell House.
The interdisciplinary nature of my perceived process made us the perfect choice for a Provost’s Learning Innovation Grant from RIT, and an additional award from the Wehrheim Family, who are staunch supporters of historic sites and museums.
