Leadership Panelist

Leadership experiences and preparation: Panel discussion [RIT Faculty in Leadership]

This winter I was invited to join a panel of women leaders at this year’s Advance RIT Leadership Summit.

By conventional wisdom, a foreign woman working as a professor of animation in a technical institute makes me quite the unlikely leader. However, in the year and a half that I have been chairing our Faculty Senate, I have implemented a number of initiatives that have sparked a fresh interest in shared governance in our very cynical faculty body.

It was truly humbling to join a panel of women leaders sharing their unique approaches to the challenges and obstacles of navigating a hierarchical system. I’m looking forward to seeing more women leaders bringing their unique styles into the Executive Suite in the coming years.
